Refund policy

Introduction

 The customer has the right of complaint pursuant to the consumer protection legislation applicable at any given time, such legislation may vary from country to country. The rights of the customer under the consumers’ protection legislation applicable at any given time are additional to those under the “Extended Warranty” and are not affected thereby.

What is approved

All Beckmann products come with the following warranty period against production defects:

  • Suitcases: 5 years – or in line with local legislation requirement depending which period is longer
  • Backpacks: up to 4 years – or in line with local legislation requirement depending which period is longer
  • Other products: 2 years – or in line with local legislation requirement depending which period is longer

In the event of a warranty case, the warranty period will not be extended by further years, the warranty period is always valid from the date of purchase. As of 2019, the consumer can also receive up to 4 year warranty on backpacks by registration of the backpack and the name at beckmannofnorway.com ("Extended Warranty"). Registration must be completed within 1 year from the date of purchase.

The warranty covers production and material defects, not damage caused by external factors. External factors affecting a backpack can be (and are not limited) to the following:

  • Cracked plastic parts due to hard pressure (e.g., under a chair leg or in a door) • A rip in the back pack due to an accident
  • The backpack worn with only one shoulder strap, which causes the seam to loosen in the transition between the backpack and the strap • Washing the backpack in a machine
  • The backpack is filled so much that the zipper bursts. External factors on a suitcase can be as follows:
  • Damage during handling by airline
  • Slippage from heights

The warranty does not cover wear and tear due to ordinary use, overloading of the product, minor material deviations on e.g. colours, as well as factors such as sunlight, temperature, humidity and pollution. Damage caused by accidents, transportation, collisions or accidents and theft is not covered by the warranty. Any damages resulting from the use of third-party accessories are not covered

How to report a warranty claim as a consumer

A warranty case should be reported to the place of purchase for the product (this may be a shop, online store, etc.). The request shall be made as soon as possible after any defect has been discovered. When submitting a warranty claim, the consumer must present a receipt for purchases that are within the warranty period. For cases that concern "Extended Guarantee", the consumer must additionally include the warranty registration number from beckmannofnorway.com. The warranty claim recipient will process the warranty claim accordingly. For an approved case, measures such as repair, distribution of spare part or delivery of new/equivalent backpack may be used. Beckmann reserves the right to choose appropriate measures.

Spare parts

Beckmann has a range of spare parts available to dealers and consumers. This includes buckles in various types, kletties and flash lights. The parts are available in colours as per the bag's model. Instruction on replacement of flash light is available as a video on Youtube and Beckmann's media bank. An overview of spare parts can be found in provided form from Beckmann.

Returned Spares (Any Value)

Shipping costs apply, or you must arrange for the return.






Eligibility

  • You have 30 days from the date of receiving your item to request a return.
  • Item must be in the same condition as received, unassembled, unworn or unused, with tags, and in the original unopened packaging.
  • Assembled items cannot be returned for a refund.
  • Custom or engraved items cannot be returned. Please inquire if unsure before purchasing.






Process

  1. Contact us at sales@beckmann.co.uk to start a return.
  2. If your return is accepted, we’ll provide a return shipping label and instructions.
  3. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.






Free Items

If applicable, select your free gift and add it to your basket. The free item amount will be automatically deducted at checkout. Failure to do so will incur additional delivery charges starting at £7 per item.






Damages and Issues

Inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately, or within 48 hours, if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect. We will evaluate the issue and make it right.






Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

  • Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers, plants)
  • Custom products (e.g., special orders, personalized items)
  • Personal care goods (e.g., beauty products)
  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases

Please contact us if you have questions about specific items.

We cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.







Exchanges

To proceed with an exchange, return the item to us. You may do so in-store or you may return via post/courier. Once the return is confirmed, you may place a new order for the desired item.







Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please note it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.







Pre-orders

When you purchase a pre-order, you are buying an out-of-stock or soon-to-be-available product not yet in inventory. We may collect no payment or a partial deposit at checkout, store your payment method, then fulfill and charge the full or remaining payment at a future date. 

You can cancel a partially paid pre-order order that has not yet been fulfilled. If the order has been fulfilled, then you can't cancel the order, but you can request a full or partial refund. See our returns policy for more details on returns and refunds.
